Watching Jalen Hurts play while at Alabama was a thrill that will remain with me for all my days. Was he perfect…no, but he was an inspiration and fun to watch. After all, who really is perfect anyway. Jalen took us to the big game more than once and did it with class and maturity.
Jalen always seem to learn from his mistakes and was obviously driven to improve his game. When critics said he wasn’t a good enough passer he came back the next year better than before. Physically Jalen could have probably been a starting running back for many teams across the nation. His determination and loyalty to his team was unquestionably the best I’ve ever seen.
From being the “Tides” starting QB to the back-up, Jalen handled the situation better than anyone could have imagined. During what would have been turmoil for most young men, Mr. Hurts graduated with honors and made himself a role model for kids everywhere. Anyone that doesn’t believe that might need to look up the definition of role model.
In my final thoughts I hope Jalen has a fantastic last season with the Sooners and reaches whatever dreams he has his heart set on. If hard work and perseverance count for anything in this world, I think ole Jalen is going to be ok. Add the talent he has to the mix and the sky is the limit.
